Lesson Program

PMC offers the most diverse lesson program available in Northern Ontario. We provide safe instruction on healthy, great minded lesson horses in every discipline; HUS, Hunter Over Fences, Showmanship, Trail, Western Pleasure, Equitation, Western Games and Horsemanship.

Whether you are just starting out or looking to take it to the next level, we have an option to suit you. 1 hour lessons are offered in small groups of 3 or more riders with similar levels of skill or private/semi private half-hour sessions. Weekday, weekend and evening lesson times are available to work around your busy schedule. Monthly packages available.

Boarding

PMC offers many options for boarding your equine partner. We have top-notch facilities with 10X12 rubber matted and deeply bedded stalls with lights and daily cleaning, large tack lockers, individual or small group turnout in spacious paddocks, heated tack room, free use of our brand new 200 X 80 foot indoor riding arena with dust-controlled footing, access to lovely trail systems, personalized quality grain & hay feeding programs and additional custom services such as boots, blankets, grooming, administering medications or holding for vet and farrier. Indoor board starts at only $650 per month.

We also offer Outdoor Board with large shelters, beautiful grazing fields for summer months and free choice hay with automatic heated watering systems for winter. Outdoor Boarders have full access to indoor and outdoor riding arenas. Outdoor Board starts at only $325 per month.

Training Program

Penny has a lifetime of experience starting young prospects and advancing the skills of horses of all ages. Whether you’re looking to start a youngster, change disciplines or hone your horse’s skills in any particular activity,Penny can design a training program that suits your needs and reaches your goals.

With affordable options starting at only $500 per month plus the cost of board you can easily get you and your horse to the next level of competition or confidence, knowing that the training has been done right the first time. Retraining and conditioning packages available. We’d be happy to discuss your goals – call us!

Pampered Pony Parties

Our Pony Parties are perfect for birthdays or special occasions. Join us for a Pampered Pony Event, children can come out, dress up and decorate a pony for an hour. This is a great introduction to the world of horses for little ones. Our ponies are very well behaved, safe and extremely tolerant. The party can go from the barn to the upstairs modern boardroom with tables, chairs and washroom facilities available. The party is limited to 10 children. Children are supervised while working with horses/ponies. It is a learning experience as well as a fun time for everyone. Children must be able to listen to direction while working with horses, if this is not doable they will be asked to watch from side lines. Pony parties do NOT include riding.

I have been a client/student of PMC Performance Horses for about 5 years as a riding student. Over the years me and my daughter have grown a great deal and have been able to compete together as a result of Penny’s teaching. We have our horse stabled at their facility and she genuinely is treated like the Princess Show Horse that she is. Having her so well cared for makes balancing our work, school and hobby so much easier.

Recently a group of friends and I signed up for an Equine Assisted Learning Date Night at PMC. It was a fabulous, fun twist on date night that not only got us learning something new, but improving our communication with our partner (both 2 legged and 4 legged partners) in a relaxed environment. We learned trust and communication skills mixed in with laughter and fresh air. Until that date night I had no idea what EAL was all about and would recommend it not only to couples, but to corporations that are always looking for new tools to improve their communication, trust and leadership skills. I can also see how a program like this would be extremely beneficial for anyone suffering from anxiety, depression or looking to improve their sociability. Penny’s positive communication style and the horses calm, kind disposition will have anyone at ease immediately and learning in a completely new way.

PMC Performance Horses is not only a great, well run facility, but Penny and her crew welcome you into their safe environment. Penny is knowledgeable as well as leads by example and pushes her students and clients to be the best they can be!

I board my horse (Rich) at PMC and am an active participant in the lesson, training and show programs. PMC provides a positive, fun and safe environment for riders of all levels. The atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive for all ages.

Penny is extremely knowledgeable about horse healthcare and training and is very proactive in addressing and resolving a variety of issues. One of the greatest aspects of Penny’s program is the balance she provides for riders between successfully showing and enjoying their horses on a daily basis. We needed a suitable place for our mare to have her foal. In hind sight we definitely made the right decision in bringing her to PMC. I cannot imagine a better place! Karen and Penny were so thoughtful, caring, compassionate and tenderhearted. After the foal was born, for a few weeks we had to take turns to go feed him almost around the clock.

When searching for a training and boarding facility for my mare, PMC was the first place that had come to mind, and I have zero regrets about my decision!
The facility is spotless, with a huge, bright indoor arena, 2 barns, acres and acres of turnout, and beautifully kept trails.

The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, with a lovely group of boarders and clients to ride with.
The level of care is top notch, with individual feed and turnout programs, regular farrier, vet, and massage therapy visits, and a training program tailored to suit your riding goals, whether it's in the show ring or just out on the trail.

Penny herself is one of the most talented riders and trainers in the area. Whether breaking out your 3 year old horse or tuning up your 8 year old horse that's been sitting in a field, she does an incredible job start to finish. She treats your horse with respect and kindness, while challenging them and pushing them to reach their potential.

The difference I've seen in my horse in a few short months is incredible, and has inspired me to get back in the saddle and even into the show ring!
